As Head, Digital & E-commerce at Stanbic Bank Ghana (SBG), Jemila Abdulai is responsible for leading our digital evolution, engaging stakeholders along the digital platforms value chain and driving functionality for Personal and Private Banking Clients (PPB) Clients. Collaborating with platform enablers and internal stakeholders in technology and client journeys, she is focused on driving the digitization of the banks processes, sign-up and utilisation of our platform in line with the Bank’s strategy of expanded financial inclusion as a key priority. Jemila has over 15 years of experience in strategic communications, digital media, business, and policy. In her previous role as Lead Consultant for Circumspecte, she provided research, strategy and policy advisory services for Africa-oriented organisations and professionals looking to thrive with digital.
Through her engaging career and digital skills workshops, Jemila has guided over 3,000 Africans including women entrepreneurs to leverage digital technologies for their brands and businesses and supported them to jumpstart their own careers in the digital arena. In recognition of her efforts towards driving financial inclusion with digital transformation, she received the ‘2021 Digital Skills Champion’ award for Ghana by the Digital Equality Coalition. Jemila is a former consultant with the African Development Bank group in Tunisia and Côte d’Ivoire. She holds a M.A. in International Economics and International Affairs from Johns Hopkins SAIS, and a B.A. in both Economics and French from Mount Holyoke College, USA.
