Centenary Bank

Centenary Bank is the leading Commercial Microfinance Bank in the Region. His major role is to coordinate the formulation, implementation, and monitoring of the Bank’s financial inclusion strategy. His division’s major objective is to increase accessibility to affordable financial services by expanding its Retail footprint and innovative offers on digital platforms, especially to Rural communities, in a sustainable manner. The Division supervises over 80 bank branches, over 200 ATMs, and over 7000 active Agents as well as over 1,200,000 customers enrolled for phone banking. Centenary Bank therefore commands the largest rural presence in Uganda. My duty details include Strategy development for Branch Network expansion, Business growth, Operations and Controls Supervision, Retail Sales mobilization, Alternative channels, Microfinance, Customer Service, and the High-Net-worth Customer Segment.

Centenary Bank is a multiple winner of performance awards especially within the East Africa Region, the latest award being the 2023 Best Bank in Financial Inclusion [East Africa] under the Africa Bank 4.0 awards.

Charles is directly responsible for growing offers of financial Services on both the Agent Banking and Mobile Banking platforms whose monthly number of users currently exceeds 3,500,000.

Charles is a Financial Management Doctorate student at Selinus University, Italy. He is an Alumnus of Strathmore Business School, and he is a holder of an MBA plus several other academic and Banking qualifications.
