Sherif Elbehery

Sherif Elbehery is the CEO and Managing Director of Misr Digital Innovation (MDI). MDI was created by Banque Misr in 2020 as the company responsible for launching the 1st digital native bank in Egypt. The digital bank aims to create innovative solutions tailored to serve the needs of the banking customers in Egypt. With a wealth of experience in banking, Sherif has worked and lived in Cairo, Dubai and Moscow.

Before embarking on the journey to establishing Misr Digital Innovation (MDI), Sherif was spearheading the SMEs function at Banque Misr after spending more than a decade leading the Retail & Business Banking at Barclays Bank. Recognised by industry peers as a visionary thought leader with a desire for excellence, Sherif has proven experience in developing new businesses and identifying key market opportunities.
