John B. Kaweesi

Mr. John B. Kaweesi is a thought leader in Retail Banking, boasting 17 years of extensive experience in the Ugandan banking sector. He currently serves as the Head Consumer Banking & Mortgages at Housing Finance Bank, a leading indigenous financial institution in Uganda.

Mr. Kaweesi is deeply passionate about driving innovative solutions across various domains, financial services Technology, payments Ecosystems, wealth management, Real Estate, among others. Before his tenure at Housing Finance Bank, he held several key positions at Stanbic Bank Uganda, the last being Head of Digital & E-commerce. Additionally, he served as the Head of Retail Banking at United Bank for Africa (UBA) Uganda, where he was responsible for overseeing branch distribution, products, and other functions.

He is an active member of the Project Management Institute (PMI) and the Financial Technology Service Providers Association (FITSPA). He is an alumni of Makerere university Uganda, holding a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Statistics.
